In this scenaripo, a mother of threeyounf adults is struggling to take care of her children. 47 year old Bridhet is taking care of herchildren alone after she had been divorced. Life has been difficult for her because she had beendependngo on her husband. She has to find ways of finding for her family makine life quitedifficult in this situatition. It is importanty to identify the problem in this case and then develop ahypothesis and a possible solution to th [problem. The solution can only be developed throuyfhthe use of an appropriate approach. I discussed with her the purpose of the interview and theassessment which was purely academic and that all the information would be maintainedconfidential without any need for diagnosis or any test. GEWA3The family that I interviewed was a family being raised by a single mpother. I went into theirhouse to introduce myself and state my intentions. Inm the houseI gotTerry, who was themother of three children who had gone to school and her husband was not around.The familyconsists of three children of 13, 15 and 18 years of age. The children's names are peter Masseyand Alex. The mother was married before but was divorced around three years ago nobody elselives in the family apart from the mother and her children. The family live in a single house withall the three children having their own rooms. However, they have their relatives around the AreaABD THEY CAN Trace their geerations made up of uncles and cosines. The graph below showstheir relationship. When it comes to occupation and educational background, the mother is acaregiver who works in various home visiting her her clients. The father used to be a truck driverwho rarely stayed at home according to the mother. He is currently in Texas. The mother mostlygets extra income through performing caregivers' duties in various forms so as to provide for thefamily.s the family has lived in California before moving to Minnesota 3 years ago.The oldestchild has problems integrating with the family members because he likes staying out with hisfriends and he mostly comes home very late. The younger siblings are usually told to do thedishes and their mother encourages them to do well in school so that they can get better jobs.
