How to Write a Research Topic Proposal (source: Griffin, C., - thesis-statement/ ) - *amended How to Write a Research Topic Proposal• PART 1 OF THE ASSIGNMENT: RESEARCH TOPIC PROPOSAL Create a general research topic from the list provide in class during Week #3, or come up with your own. The only condition is that your topic must focus on a cultural group that you are NOT familiar with, i.e. a cultural group that is not your own. The written proposal must include the following 2 things: 1. Your proposed research topic: This part of the proposal is two or three sentences. Explain the larger topic and address how you will focus your research. Keep your topic narrow (but not so narrow that there are no scholarly sources available on the topic). 2. Explain why you think the topic is interesting and important: one or two sentences. Total Word Count: Approx. 100-150 words.
