Cynthia Farrar January 20, 2008 Literacy Biography My first college English professor definitely affected how I view writing. I enrolled in ENGL 1310 my first semester of college like any good freshman would do. I breezed through high school and never had a problem cranking out an essay, even if it was always finished after midnight, and I knew that millions of college freshman before me had passed this course, so I figured that the class would be easy enough. I mean come on only 4 essays? How bad could it be? I was about to find out. The first week I was in love with the class. I thought my professor was cool and hip because she used clips from the chapelle show and seinfeild among others in class and made it seem like we would have a blast writing all these papers. She knew how to talk the talk of college freshman. As the semester wore on however I started to be less than pleased with the class and a little frustrated with how things were going. It seemed as if I had actually signed up for a political satire 101 course, and not English. I thought
