False- Heterochromatin is visualized using Fuelgen and represents transcriptionally silent portions of the genome. 2. Karyotype analysis allows detection of gross chromosomal abnormalities. True 3. The yeast Snf/Swi complex, like other chromatin remodeling machines, use the energy of ATP hydrolysis to "remodel" the pattern of post-translational modifications on histone tails. False- Chromatin remodeling machines alter the position and conformation of nucleosomes, not their post-translational modifications. 4. Introns got their name because the carry the in formation that codes for a protein. False- Introns represent the part of the gene that is spliced out, i.e. the intervening sequence, therefore they do not code for proteins.
