Kerr, 2009 Overview As discussed in Unit 10, employers today are interested in having tangible proof of a candidates qualifications and abilities. While you are creating these documents as part of your coursework, you should also share them with prospective employers. You will want to complete them after you have submitted and received feedback on your course assignment for each topic. Because these projects are designed to represent your abilities after covering material in this course, your instructor will not be able to provide any feedback on your work. If you have a personal web page, you might wish to post the portfolio documents there and include a link to it on your resume. After all, candidates who demonstrate their abilities while seeking an interview should have an advantage over candidates who provide only a resume and cover letter. You should also take hard copies of these documents to interviews both as discussion pieces and as leave behinds to help to provide a better picture of you as a prospect. In any case, you should probably include descriptions of what you were asked to do for each item so that prospective employers can gauge your effectiveness.
