Chapter 14 Questions p. 335 1) Why isn’t effective communication synonymous with agreement? Someone can accurately receive the transfer of information but still not agree with the content. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions. There may be a thorough understanding of the point of the communication but personal disagreement with the statements made and the result is still considered a successful communication because the information was sent and received. 2) Which is more important for a manager in YOUR field of study or your adopted business: speaking accurately or listening actively? Explain. Although, both are critical in communication, I feel that as a manager it is imperative that one’s statements must be carefully thought out and delivered with the utmost clarity. Making decisions and giving instructions are a big part of a managerial position.
