The separation of a mixture of compounds by differing interactions between a stationary phase and a mobile phase. •The more attracted a compound is to the stationary phase relative to other compounds, the less time it will spend in the mobile phase. •The less time a compound spends in the mobile phase, the more slowly it will “move” from the origin.
