The English language has been around for a very long time. The English language is originally from Britain. Since Britain had control over a lot of countries for a long time, it would be hard to say if it would be “native” in may places. There are many countries today that English is their primary language, but before the British Empire struck, they had their own primary language. While reading Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language: When the Teacher is a Non-native Speaker, I was baffled by the amount of discrimination mentioned. I found while reading that even if a person has a high English degree in teaching, they could still be rejected is they weren’t a native english speaker. This happened during the 90’s when mentions of discrimination acts were happening. Despite being a native English speaker, I don’t have to struggle much with things that non native English speakers would struggle with, such as:vocabulary, speech and pronunciation,
