Lillian Hunt October 17, 2019 Eng 224 Co-Teaching a Foreign Language I observed Professor Ross Cram’s Spanish 101 class here at the University of Maine in Farmington. His class was set at ten thirty to eleven thirty in the morning in the Roberts Learning Center. In the introduction of the class Professor Cram introduced me in Spanish first, then he asked in english if there were any questions about the homework. He answered the questions in Spanish first then English. When they were going over the song they had to watch, interpret, and gather any unfamiliar vocabulary words from, the students asked Professor Cram if he could lip sync the words to the song when they played the song. Professor Cram complied and lip synced the words to the song. After the introduction, the lesson was about proper verbs in a sentence and understanding the difference between the feminie and masculine parts of speech. His posture was very relaxed, and would often walk around the front of the room while writing on the white board. After doing a couple examples on the board, his TA Alba, who is from Argentina, took the lesson deeper by explaining the difference in real life, using Spanish. Alba mostly taught her part in Spanish, while Professor Cram used an equal amount of English and Spanish. Alba used a
