Colorado River o Las Vegas Get all their water from the Colorado River o The Colorado River was actually not used by Utah, Nevada, and Arizona in the early days So California took advantage of this and took a much bigger share of water than it’s allocated Feeds LA and San Diego o Recently, Las Vegas and Arizona started to use their share Phoenix out grew their water source and created the Central Arizona Water Project to get water from the Colorado o By the time the water gets to Mexico, it’s nearly dried up and it is really dirty and potentially toxic in some places Global Climate Change o Hotter places in the world are expected to get hotter o Wetter places in the world are expected to get wetter California o Water mostly produced in Northern California
