NOTES SECTION TEN: Slide 6: Paul pointed out that Israel was responsible for her rejection of the gospel. Just like Israel rejected the purpose of the law (trusting in God) the Israelites were also led to reject Christ (Who similarly called for trust in God). Slide 7: Rom 10:1-13 shows the connection—the balance--between God’s absolute rule and humanity’s responsibility in light of free will. Legal and faith righteousness is contrasted. Slide 8: This human responsibility is evidenced in this verse. Slide 9: Therefore, the very actions required of humans (confessing and believing) indicate that Paul believed that person have to do their part of responding to the gospel—including the Jews. Slide 10: One outcome of the responsibility of humanity is Paul’s personal response to Acts 1:8. See Also Rom 10:14-21. Slide 14: Read chapter 11 in light of God’s unfailing faithfulness. What is the mystery of God’s faithfulness? God’s faithfulness, for one, is revealed in Christ. God keeps His promises.
