Question Which is more permanent – the written or  spoken word?

Written more perm – recorded in a physical way  and can be passed along  Spoken word is gone as soon as the sound  wave ends – or is it? Once u have said a word u cant take it back.  U  can always delete, revise, rewrite.

Development of Writing Humans must have wanted a more permanent record of  what they were thinking and saying.  Writing based on some  type of alphabet only dates back about 3,000 years ago.  Cave  drawings were made at least 20,000 years ago. Pictograms Ideograms Logograms Rebus writing Syllabic writing Alphabetic writing Written English There are written languages without spoken forms – Latin – the spoken  form died out
