Managers are the ones with the power to place the workers wherever they’d  like. Customers do not play a huge role in this because they are just there.  When managers sort workers based on their stereotypes of gender and race,  they often think in terms of their customers. They blame the prejudices on the  customers.  2. Aesthetic labor in high-end retail stores: this is where the deployment of workers  can be seen more clearly. They really draw on particular characteristics of their  workers. Aesthetic labor consists of looking good and sounding right. This  includes accent where they would sound like they are sophisticated. This type of  labor also based on attractiveness. Aesthetic labor becomes the only  requirement for the job where experience and skill are not considered. The right  look is mainly white middle-class and fitting into gender’s stereotype. The look of
