PHYSICS 2CL How to ACE the Formal Report A “formal” report is required for the last of the four experiments, 4, 5, 6 or 7, as defined by your sign-up sheet schedule. Because the lowest regular report grade is automatically dropped, some of you may opt for not doing the final experiment altogether (a strategy which will earn you zero points for that final experiment so that that grade gets dropped) – if you choose to do so, you should do the formal report on the next-to-last scheduled experiment from your sign-up sheet. Formal reports shall be submitted in person on Friday, March 6 th from 1PM- 3PM at the lab, for all sections. There will be also an additional submission window on Thursday, March 5 th from 5PM to 6PM to accommodate students who have conflict on Friday. You will also need to pick up all of your graded lab notebooks when you submit your formal report. Here we want to describe the format, and give some details that you must attend to if you want to ace the formal report. The formal report should describe the experiment and the results in a clear and concise
