Ethnic Groups 2 I personally belong to the African American group. Caucasian and Indian runs in my family, but the ethnic group I mostly identify with are the African American group. My ethnic group faced a lot of prejudice, segregation, and racism. When we where migrated to this country, we were slaves. We were to do whatever our masters told us to do. The masters had us doing things such as plowing fields, picking cotton, clean their homes, caring for their children, and even cooking for them. We would have to get up before dawn to do all of these things and would still have to maintain our own families. The women will be in the fields with their infants wrapped in a rag tied on their backs. This is one of the ways the masters showed how serious they want the work done. They did not care if you had a child they wanted the work to be done. My people were degraded, beating, and called the worst names ever heard. They where called names like: nigger, monkey, and called the men boys. The masters would
