Streetcars go much faster than horses or by foot o So the city can spread out more and cheaper houses Southern California Automobile Club of 1900s brought upon the age of automobiles 1908 – Ford invents the assembly line (Model T) 1915 – LA leads the country in car ownership (55,00)
