Students will exhibit knowledge of basic neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. 2. Students will exhibit knowledge of neuroanatomical pathways and cortical areas important to the functions of speech, language, and hearing. 3. Students will exhibit knowledge concerning the neurological etiologies of various communication disorders. 4. Students will exhibit knowledge concerning basic brain/behavior relationships. Grading policy (numerical grades) Weekly quizzes: 40 % of final grade 8 x 50 pts = 400 pts Final exam: 20 % of final grade 1 X 200 pts = 200 pts Presentation "Neuroscience in the News": 20 % of final grade 1 X 200 pts = 200 pts Lab projects: 20 % of final grade 4 x 50 PTS = 200 pts Sum: 1000 pts Course Text (required) Bear M, Connors BW, Paradiso MA (2006).
