Extra Credit Journal #2
I’ve been meaning to write this journal not for the sake of extra credit but as an
evaluation of my own mistakes in both of the essays submitted in the class, in the hopes of
maybe being able to catch my mistakes. One of the key points that I ended up making a mistake
of both times were my comma splices error. I still remember during the drafting day for essay 1,
I went to the professor and asked him as to how I would reduce my comma splice errors since it
was the only major problem in my previous English classes as well. Learning after my first essay
my main goal was to start a head of time rather than leave everything at the last minute. I was
able to find out much improvements made especially in the entire structure in essay 2 as well as
the transitioning. During my first essay the professor pointed out that I lacked balance between
the summary portion of the essay and my own analysis. To combat that I decided to have my
essay proofread by someone else, something I had not done for my previous essay. After having
