Reaves, Jessica. Anorexia Goes High Tech. Time Magazine. July 31, 2001. Anorexia Nervosa is a disease that has been seen in celebrities, relatives, and friends all across the world for years. The article “Anorexia Goes High Tech” aims to show how these celebrities, relatives, and friends are now becoming smart enough, and tricky enough to conceal their problem, and avoid the confrontation that apparent anorexia can bring. According to Reaves, anorexics are not alone in their search to lose weight. They can rely on hundreds of websites to feed their craze and provoke them to learn deceiving techniques to keep their disease from anyone knowing they even have it. The first subject of the article covers the general characteristics of the websites and how most of them often show a sort of “cry for help” while still offering suggestions to those who are anorexic. “They also put up a defense against it. Don’t come on the site if you’re only interested in putting us down.” (Reaves) Other sites list warning pages to protect those who either do not
