Aerobic Capacity Lab # 2 Purpose The purpose of this lab what to find out what VO 2 max is and how we can calculate it. We used to methods to find out what our VO 2 max was, the Astrand-Rhyming Test as well as the direct measurement of VO 2 max which I did not participate in. After getting the results, we were able to determine our predicted VO 2 and if we participated in the direct VO 2 measurement we were able to compare the results Results 1.) Data sheet attached 2.) a.) The Pearson correlation for predicted VO 2 max (ml/kg/min) and % body fat from skinfolds is -0.372 Null hypothesis: There is no correlation between VO 2 max and % body fat Research hypothesis: VO 2 max and % body fat are negatively correlated DF = n-2 = 15-2 = 13 P<0.05 Pearson r = -0.372 Critical value = .514 .514 > -0.372 there is not a statistically significant correlation between the two variables predicted VO 2 max and % body fat therefore we fail to reject the null hypothesis. b.)
