No you could not use someone else’s regression line to estimate your own caloric expenditure because everyone’s heart responds differently to exercise. Since heart rate is used in the equation as well as VO 2 , it would be very difficult to calculate your own caloric expenditure from someone else’s regression line. The only possible way would be if someone was of the same build, height, and fitness level as you but even then the results could be skewed. If you are using someone else’s data then there is really no way
