Statistics/Graphing Assignment Purpose: To practice how to write a lab report Results (1) a. percent of body weight made up of fat (% fat) & the number of hours per week spent exercising Null hypothesis: There is no correlation between the percent of body weight made of fat and the number of hours per week spent exercising Research hypothesis: People who spend more time exercising will have less of a percentage of body weight made up of fat Best guess correlation: -1.0 This would be an indirect correlation because the two variables tend to change together in opposite directions. People with low body fat probably spend more time exercising. b. number of free throws made (out of 20 attempts) & the number hour hours per week spent practicing free throws Null hypothesis: There is no correlation between the number of free throws made and the number of hours per week spent practicing free throws Research hypothesis: People who spend more time practicing free throws will have a greater number of free throws made
