To understand the role of leisure in the American lifestyle and to assist the American public to develop a more enjoyable life (experience quality of life) through leisure education, skills, leadership strategies and resources. Lab experience required. Course Objectives The instructional goals of this course are for the student: 1. To become aware of leisure throughout the life span relative to leisure values, behaviors, attitudes and resources by completing five units of study/learning activities. 2. To become aware of the theoretical and conceptual underpinnings of leisure, leisure behavior, health, wellness and fitness.
