Our group’s purpose was to program our robot to first, run and stay inside of a 50cm x 70cm box and then be able to run, stay inside of the same box, but locate a 1” x 1” silver spot. 1 st Task: Stay Inside 50cm x 70cm Box: Our program for this first task simply called for each motor to start and then use each of our two sensors to look for darkness. Each sensor looked for light output less then 45. For example, if our right sensor sensed darkness, both motors stopped and the left motor reversed for 1 second, and then both continued forward—for the left sensor, the motors switched roles. 2 nd Toward the end of our first task we began having problems with our first robot. We hadn’t changed the power output of the motors, but the robot began slowing down, so we switched out the robot for a different one. For this task we used our first programming flowchart and added a third sensor that looked for
