Please budget your time accordingly. Problem 1 (10 points) Five hundred gms (500 gms) of a pure hydrocarbon component are confined in a PVT cell maintained at a constant temperature of 200 F. The initial pressure in the cell is ˚ adjusted to 400 psia. A flash vaporization experiment is then performed on the sample at a final pressure of 200 psia. The vapor pressure curve for the pure component is shown in Figure 1. Calculate or otherwise determine the mole % of liquid in the cell at the final pressure of 200 psia. Please explain the reasoning behind your answer to get full credit.
