Study Guide – Exam 1 – Com 240, Fall 2008 This exam is worth 120 points. All exam questions are multiple choice (there will approximately 60 questions). Some of the questions will be definitions of concepts , however the majority of questions will focus on the application of concepts and relating concepts to one another . Material on the exam will cover Classical, Human Relations, Human Resources, External Communications and Marketing. Questions will be drawn from material presented in lecture, book chapters, and articles on Angel. If you understand the concepts and can apply them, you will perform well on the exam. One studying technique is to practice integrating the concepts and applying them to work place scenarios. Talking to classmates and teaching each other the concepts is also an excellent study method. The following list of topics is provided as a guide to studying: Classical Approaches Machine Metaphor (specialization, replaceability, predictable) Fayol’s Principles of Management
