Britson Office: 206 Shoemaker Phone: 915-7988 Email: [email protected] Office Hours: Tuesdays 1-2:30pm, Wednesdays 9:30-11am, or by appointment Laboratory Teaching Assistant: Stu Nielsen COURSE OBJECTIVES: To gain an understanding of the anatomical structure and physiology of the human body. This course will focus on anatomy and physiological functions of cells, the skeleton, the muscular system, the cardiac system, and the nervous system. TEXTBOOKS: 1. Tortora & Derrickson. 2009. Principles of Anatomy and Physiology. 12th Ed. (ISBN: 978-0-470-08471-7; older editions are OK) 2. Allen & Harper. 2009. Laboratory Manual for Anatomy and Physiology. 3rd Ed. (ISBN: 978-0-470-08470-0; this one needs to be new) BlackBoard: All students at the University of Mississippi have a WebID (and associated password) that is used to access online resources (e.g., registering for classes, etc.) and the university’s course management system BlackBoard http://blackboard.olemiss.edu/ . You are already enrolled as a BlackBoard user for this course (and perhaps several other courses as well). I will be posting announcements, web links, and other information on BlackBoard. Attendance Policy: I expect that students arrive on time and stay the entire lecture . Please be attentive to the lecture and respectful of the instructor, other students and University property at all times. Students are responsible for all material and announcements made in class.
