Catalog Description: Fundamental principles of human nutrition, application to needs of individuals and families at all stages of the life cycle. III. Objectives: The participant will: Be aware of the basic chemical and physiological concepts of nutrition. Examine the concepts of under- and over-nutrition, and to study the various nutrients and learn how they apply to our daily lives. Be acquainted with the necessity of different food choices for the various age groups and for people with special requirements due to medical conditions. Investigate some of the controversial and newer issues in nutrition. Be able to translate knowledge into food choices. Be stimulated to continually seek and evaluate new nutrition information to arrive at meaningful conclusions. Style Mode of Teaching
