Density of States for Nonrelativistic Particles (6 points) Solutions to the Schr¨odinger equation for nonrelativistic particles in a L × L × L box take the form ψ ( x,y,z ) sin( m x πx/L ) sin( m y πy/L ) sin( m z πz/L ) , with m x , m y and m z positive integers. The energy of such a solution is ε = ¯ h 2 π 2 ( m 2 x + m 2 y + m 2 z ) / (2 mL 2 ). What is the density of states D ( ε )? 2.
