CAT3B Project Assignment Spring 2009 Project Assigment Inspired by the film Be Kind Rewind , for your final project you will work in groups of 3-4 to create a 1-minute live-action "Sweded" version of any animated film seen in this class. The goal here is to distill the central concepts and formal elements (e.g. lighting, background, camera angles, editing) from the original film and recreate them in a sixty-second story. You may focus on either recreating one scene from the film or summarizing the overall narrative, but you are not creating a trailer for the

film. Objects, puppets, carboard-cut ours, classmates, and group members can all appear in your version, but it must be done with live-action. Your group will also need to write a one paragraph specifying the central themes and formal elements from the original film, and how your group has transformed these aspects in your Sweded version. Projects are due Thursday June 4th by 9am. See below for submission instructions.
