H. Alexander Date: 13 July 2004 (A) BEFORE THE TEST/EXAMINATION: 1. When writing materials are available in advance, nothing is to be written onto the papers before the examination period 2. Tables or charts authorized for use during any test/examination must not contain any additional notes, formulae, or extraneous material. 3. Calculators authorized for use during any test/examination must not be pre-programmed unless specifically authorized by the instructor. 4. Only those materials specifically authorized for use during the test/examination are allowed at the student’s desk. Leave all other materials at the side of the room. (B) DURING THE TEST/EXAMINATION: 1. Place your student identification card on the upper left corner of your desk where the supervisor can readily see it 2. Identify all rough calculations and preliminary diagrams as such. 3. No work is to be done on paper which is later discarded. 4. No pages are to be removed from answer booklets. 5. If a test or quiz is to be returned to the student, it must not be written in pencil. Final examinations are not returned. 6. No student is to leave the room during the first one-third of the test/examination period or after the group has been told to remain in their seats near the end of the session. 7. If an emergency requires that a student must leave the room during the test/examination, his/her student card and all papers must be left with the chief invigilator on duty when permission to leave is requested. Students who leave the exam/test room early and unaccompanied, will not be allowed to resume writing the test/exam. 8. If a question appears to be ambiguous, or if some critical information seems to be missing from the paper, write a clear statement of the assumptions which you are making in order to proceed with the problem solution, and the reasons for making them. (C) AT THE CLOSE OF THE TEST/EXAMINATION PERIOD: 1. As soon as the group has been informed that the allotted time has expired, all candidates still in the room must remain quietly in their seats until all papers have been collected by the invigilators. 2. Be certain that your name, student identification number, etc., appear on each booklet and/or separate piece of paper that you use. 3. Make certain that you have signed the pledge printed below. 4. The last booklet used should be placed inside the back cover of the second last, which should be placed inside the back cover of the third last, etc., when multiple answer booklets are used....
