tRNAs interpret the genetic code. Each binds both to a codon (in mRNA) by base- pairing and to an aa. Anti-codon in tRNA binds codon. anti-codon amino acid attachment site

There are MANY tRNAs. Each binds to the right codon and the right amino acid. An Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase binds BOTH to a specific aa and a specific tRNA and covalently links them using energy from ATP hydrolysis.
