History 140: The World Since 1945 Fall 2009 Recitation section policies Andrew Haeberlin, Teaching Assistant. email: haeberli@email.unc.edu Office: Hamilton 406 Office Hours: Friday, 12:00-1:00pm, or by appointment Recitation section policies and rules: - All general policies outlined by Professor Fletcher in his course syllabus apply in section as well. - Email policy: I will do my best to answer all emails within 24 hours. Please do not email me the day before a major assignment with large questions about key issues. Frequently I will answer them quicker, but 24 hours is my official guarantee. -Discussing grades: I am more than happy to discuss your grades with you. I do ask, however, that we wait at least 48 hours after I have given the assignment back before discussing it. I find that this helps everyone – both me and you – look at it a bit more rationally and with a greater sense of perspective. -Drafts: I will not read full drafts of papers. If I were to read multiple drafts of every paper for even a third of the class I would do nothing but read drafts all semester. That said, I am more than happy to discuss your topic, your approach, and how you are going about the assignment. If you have an outline, a section, or even the first couple
