Hist 11 Wed. 18:00-20:50 Extra Credit Yushan Nan The lecture is “African American Intellectual Thought: Philosophy, History, and the Race/ Class Question”. In this lecture, Dr. Steve Ferguson gave a talk titled “The Philosopher King:  Martin Luther King, Hegel, and Dialectics”. This lecture impressed me a lot. In the beginning  of the lecture he gave us an example that is in the old time, if a black woman and a white  woman had a baby at the same time. After they gave birth, the black woman had to go back  to work in 48 hours, but the white could have a rest for some weeks. This shows that at that  time blacks are in bad treatment. They were not been treated as human, they just working  machines. The reason is in 1619 the first batch of blacks were sent from Africa to America as  slaves. At that time the blacks were having a hard time. They had low income and had no
