CHCMHS011 Assess and promote social, emotional and physical wellbeing QuestionsQuestion 1HOLISTIC APPROACH A holistic approach to mental health issues means that all of the needs and requirements of a person will be managed in an overall and collaborative health plan in order to ensure that they are in the best position to meet their overall needs. A person will not be able to be effectively progress in their mental health recovery process if they are not having their needs in order areas met as well. Question 2 Aspects of social wellbeing and types of social activity of that contribute to wellbeing, including: o Education o Employment o Community o Volunteering o Hobbies o Personal interests Question 3. Personal values and beliefs may impact on:  Decisions  Communication  The way you behave  The way you perceive information  Judgement Question 4.Primary factors for clarifying and respectful communication may include: CONTEXTIt is essential for communication to be within the correct context in order for it to be effective and relevant to the client and their participation. PARTICIPANTS The participants of the communication must be considered to ensure that all communication is tailored, to the individual needs of the specific client. RULESThe rules of communication are related to professionalism and cultural appropriateness, it is essential that all communication that is conducted in done so with the clients rights in mind at all times. in-line with the message that you are trying to convey, this means that tone of voice must be accurate, in line with words, implied factors and body language in order to be clear. CHANNELS Communication channels are methods that can be used to communicate information it is essential that all communication is conducted within the appropriate channel in order to ensure its success. NOISE Refers to forces that may interfere with the effectiveness of the communication. There are various types of noise these include:  Physiological  Psychological  External  Internal It is important to take steps to ensure that this noise can either be reduced, managed or removed effectively. FEEDBACK It is important to be aware of how to give and receive feedback to and from the client. Question 5INDICATORS OF SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH Indicators of social and emotional health of the person may include:  Coping mechanisms  Resilience  Independence  Healthy relationships  Social skills  Quality of networks and support  Understanding of the importance of social and emotional health Question 6.
