Short Answer Assignment 1) The executive branch is tasked with carrying out and enforcing laws created by the legislative branch. When dealing with climate change one of the agencies which helps produce laws regarding this topic is the Environmental Protection Agency or the EPA. This program was founded after president Richard Nixon signed an executive order in 1970 to help protect our environment. With regards to climate change the EPA conducts research to help advance the knowledge of environmental effects of climate change and to help prevent the continuation of global warming. They have also created policy such as the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water act to help fight the progression of climate change. Another way the executive branch deals with climate control is by having the president sign or veto laws which the congress creates to deal with this environmental problem.
