AEM 4480 Food Merchandising Spring ‘09 Prof. Perosio PART I: 60 points 1. The location of each major department in the store and the entrances/exits.(10 points) a. Please include where you will have every department listed b. Include the flow of where you want consumers to travel throughout the store c. Color coded is recommended so that it is easy to see the change in the layouts d. Make sure that you include any special department you listed in previous homeworks e. Include the entrance and exits and where the cash registers will be located 2. The general location of display cases in each department. (5 points) a. Where will the display cases be located? End caps? Have kiosks in the middle of the aisle? b. Explain why you picked this type of positioning in different departments 3. Indicate the general flow of customer traffic through the store using arrows. Explain if this store will employ a controlled traffic pattern or more of a “free flow” pattern. (5 points)
