Unformatted text preview: Cause and Effect Analysis: Causes, Effects, or Both? Consider your knowledge of the topic: How much information do you have? Do you understand the causes or the effects of the topic better? Or, do you understand both fairly well? Do you have many more points on either the causes or effects, or can you write a balanced essay consisting of both? Relatively "easy" topics should probably cover both causes and effects. More difficult or complicated topics might focus on causes or effects, but not both.
