3What is a supply chain?First thought:Supply chain is the network of manufacturing and distribution sites that interact in order to procure and transform raw materials for producing finished goods to customers.Definition: A supply chain•consists of all stages involved, directly or indirectly, in fulfilling a customer request;•includes not only the manufacturing and suppliers, but also transporters, warehouses, retailers and customers themselves;•within each organization, such as a manufacturer, the supply chain includes all functions involved in filling a customer request.
