Scott Sandoval AEB3144 Practice Problem 3 May 24, 2009 1. Sales: It is quite apparent that Home Depot’s sales are considerably higher than Publix. This could be because Home Depot covers more geographic area, it also could be because the cost of good sold in Home Depot are more. That being considered we do notice that Home Depot had a considerable drop in sales during the 2008 year. This is probably due to the fact that some of the goods consumer’s were purchasing at Home Depot were not essentials to living. It is possible that after the economic crisis, fewer people where focusing their equity on home improvement. At the same time, we notice a continuation in the slow but steady growth of sales in Publix. No matter what people will always need to by food so then net sales have increase with the previous trend.
