Unformatted text preview: STATS 326 Applied Time Series ASSIGNMENT TWO Due: Monday 11 th May (in lecture) The data for this assignment are the monthly occupancy figures for four hotels in a large US city for the period January 1980 to December 1993. The data is contained in a text file called hotel.occ and can be downloaded from Cecil. The variable in that file is called occupancy. The last year of data (1993) has been removed from the data file. You will use the reduced series (1980 to 1992) to build non-stationary time series models in questions 2 5 and then predict the occupancy figures for January June 1993. The actual occupancy figures for 1993 are given below. You can use these figures to assess which is the best predicting model in Question Six.
