REHABILITATION AND CASE MANAGEMENT2AbstractRehabilitation is the action of restoring someone to health or normal life through training andtherapy after imprisonment, addiction, or illness. According to Gideon and Sung, rehabilitation isa significant aspect of reintegrating offenders back into society. Many different approaches areoften used to rehabilitate these offenders. According to the textbook, case management is aparticular method used since the 1960s. Case management techniques can sometimes promote ahealthy and productive lifestyle among people with multiple problems (Gideon and Sung, 2011).By there being a lack of rehabilitation programs in the state and federal prison systems, the chancesof convicts getting released and ultimately returning to the prison system can increase rapidly. Thelimited amount of rehabilitation sources is one of the most leading causes of an offender's relapseor their need to commit a new crime that will most likely be committed within three years of anoffender's release. The concept of this paper will discuss the ideas behindnew rehabilitation approaches and the latest evaluation of these treatment service innovations aswell as the concepts behind them.
