Beyond Limits November 24, 2019 Type of Organizational Structure An organization’s structure develops when managers assign work tasks and activities to specific individuals or work groups and coordinate the diverse activities required to reach the firm’s objective (Business Foundation 12 th ed. 2020). Right now, Beyond Limits is a small business which is currently limited to only one gym. We are a sole proprietorship company. Everything in the gym is owned and purchased by each one of us in the team. We pay for our own advertisements, and all obligations falls on the group as a whole. We are our own crew. There is a total of five owners here at Beyond limits and each one of us have a task to do. Marissa is our sales manager she trains our small sales team to get out there and promote our gym. Whether its through social media or handing out flyers, she’s responsible for our increase in clientele. James is also a part of the sales personnel with Marissa. His day to day duties is to help bring in new clients and generate revenue so that we can grow Beyond Limits. Tharon is our merchandise buyer. He is responsible for all of the gym’s equipment and health products that we sale. Tharon finds the company great deals on our inventory through wholesale and some retail companies like Walmart or Amazon, which by the way, offers some extremely great deals. James is also apart of the sales personnel with Marissa. His day to day duties is to help bring in new clients and generate revenue so that we can grow Beyond Limits. Nikunj is our data processing analyst. He makes the necessary improvements to the business and he also monitors our performance from month to month to make sure the business is successfully growing. Also, he gives James and Marissa points on different sales tactics. Furthermore, I will be the company’s accountant since I have a background in 2

Beyond Limits November 24, 2019 accounting. My duties are to keep a detail track on what the company is spending, and where we need to allocate money to and from. But as a group we come together each month and we discuss the necessary changes that needs to be made. We also analyze each month’s productivity. Types of organizational Structure: Functional organizational structure. Is set up so that each portion of the organization is grouped according to its purpose. In this type of organization, there may be a marketing department, a sales department and a production department. Divisional Structure of an Organization: Typically, is used in larger companies that operate in a wide geographic area or that have separate smaller organizations within the umbrella group to cover different types of products or market areas.
