1. According to the author, Asian students succeed in school because they highly value hard work, the family, and education. 2.A child's success in school vouches for unique parents' upbringing patterns such as motivation, hard work instillment, parent's reverence and a sense of obligation towards them. Parents are trying to set a close connection with their child and be involved in the child's educational process. Definitely, I agree with the author's proposed methods which will only benefit children in achieving success. First, motivation for hard work should be prioritized. Margaret Thatcher once said,   "I do not know anyone who  has got to the top without hard work." Hard work is a key to success, not only in  school, but in life. Secondly, American parents should devote more time and be  involved in their children's educational life. It encourages children and allows  them to know that parents are concerned about their academic performance.
