In the short story Totem, Thomas King tries to convey the message that you can't just hide away your problem because if you do it will just get worse and worse. The book that this is in is a series of short stories by Thomas King and they are all put together in One Good Story, That One. The people in the story found one day that there was a totem pole in their art gallery but when they tried to move it it was stuck.
