Running head: SEVEN DIMENSIONS OF ABA 1 Seven Dimensions of ABA Alexa Slater Capella University
SEVEN DIMENSIONS OF ABA 2 Abstract Baer, Wolf, and Risley, 1968, discuss the dimensions that behavior analysts should follow in their practice. The dimensions that the authors suggest to follow are: generality, effective, technological, analytic, conceptually systematic, applied, and behavioral. These seven dimensions are still relevant today and are used to determine if a study is behavior analytic. Krentz, Miltenberger, and Valbuena, 2016, examine the results of using token reinforcement to increase the physical activity individuals with an intellectual disability perform. Marsic, Berman, Barry, and McCloskey, 2014, examine the relationship between intentional self-injurious behavior and loudness dependence of auditory evoked potential, LDAEP. One of these articles is behavior analytic, the other is not. We’re going to dive into each of the dimensions and discuss why one has these attributes or doesn’t.
