1. Hi, first I’m going to give an introduction of what I will do in this constructive:
Attention Getter: 168 innocent lives lost. 1 guilty man’s taken. The death penalty is a
rare but necessary means to achieving justice.
Opponent’s argument : While my opponents argue that it is immoral to sentence
a man to death, I stand before you to argue that when someone makes the choice
to take the life of one, or in most death penalty cases, many individuals, they have
forfeited a right to their own life, and must face the consequences.
Restate First Constructive : My partner has presented to you the two main issues
surrounding the death penalty, its effects on society, and why the death penalty
should not be abolished. First, life imprisonment is extremely expensive whereas
the death penalty spurs justice. Next, poeple who murder, are the ones devaluing
human life and putting murderers and terrorists on death row leads to a decline
in mass incarceration which already costs the United States over $182 million
dollars. Also, if a killer is sentenced to death, the families of the victims can know
that the murderer can no longer do any more harm.
2. Develop negative attack on affirmatives case: Now I will go into why my opponents
case is not an effective solution.
