Question
How does light affect plant growth? How does the quantity of sunlight make a difference with each
plant?
Hypothesis
If the plan gets unlimited sunlight, then the plan will be the one that grows quickly and it will have a
healthy looking seed because a good quantity of light allows the plant to do photosynthesis.
Materials
3 identical bean seeds
3 pots
8- oz of soil per pot
1/4 cup of water per pot
Notebook and pencil
3 different growing locations: full sun, partial/some sun, no sun
Procedure
1)
Obtain seed for the type of bean plants you would like to grow
2)
Fill the 3 pots with 8-oz of soil.
3)
Create a hole in the center of each pot.
4)
Place the bean in the bottom of the hole
5)
Fill in the hole with soil by compressing slightly
6)
Sprinkle the ¼ cup of water gently to moist to soil without getting it wet.
7)
Place the first pot in a full sun lighted place.
8)
Place the second pot in a medium sun lighted place
9)
Place the third pot in a shady place.
10) Water the three pots when needed to stay moist
Observations
A seed is growing in a sunlit place

(Hodgins, 2015)
A seed is growing in a semi light place
(McClendon ,2015)
A seed is growing without sunlight
(“Technical University Munich”, 2013)
I observed that the physical appearance of each plant was different. The three plants were not growing
