TENET HEALTHTenet Health: Organizational EvaluationThere are many healthcare organizations around the world that are striving for excellence. Healthcare organizations, like any other business need to have a strategic business plan in place to be successful. This plan details the direction that the company is going and how they plan to get there as well as the vision they have for the future. This plan can also be used to attract financial investors and business partners that have similar goals (Wroblewski, 2019). Tenet Health is a comprehensive investor-owned healthcare organization in the United States with a large network and a commitment to delivering high quality patient care (TH Medical, 2019). This paper will describe Tenet Health and discuss their strategic plan for the next decade for network growth, resource management, nurse staffing, and patient satisfaction as well as discuss potential issues within the organization affecting this plan and discuss an organizational theory that can support the implementation of this plan.Tenet HealthTenet Health was founded in 1969 under the name National Medical Enterprises (NME) and has expanded exponentially over the last five decades with the mission of providing “quality compassionate care in the communities that they serve” (TH Medical, 2019). Tenet Health operates one of the largest hospital chains in the US and currently consists of 65 acute care hospitals and 23 surgical hospitals in twelve States with almost 18,000 licensed beds and over 110,000 employees. They also operate urgent care centers, imaging centers, ambulatory surgery centers and offsite emergency departments and micro hospitals. In 2008 they founded Conifer Health Solutions, with the purpose of providing a foundation for a better health experience by working directly with hospital administrators and patients. In 2013 Tenet Health acquired Vanguard Health Systems, which was a leading health care organization at the time. In 2015 2
TENET HEALTHTenet Health partnered with United Surgical Partners International (USPI) which operates the largest ambulatory organization in the country with it’s ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers and urgent care centers such as CareSpot and MedPost. Over 2.7 million patients are serviced each year through the USPI (TH Medical, 2019).
