Safe Work Australia is currently developing a standardised (model) OHS Act that can be adopted by all six states and two territories in Australia. The hope is that all states and territories will adopt and enact OHS legislation that is similar or mirrors what is developed as the model OHS act. The ultimate aim is that OHS legislation and regulation is harmonised nationally but still administered on an individual state/territory basis. 4
